A Time of Unveiling

A wintery view from my deck this week!

In a world of fault lines and fractures, we stand in a place where opposites come together, awaiting the birth of what is to come.

If you are doubting, welcome. If you are healing, welcome. If you are angry at injustice, welcome.

We await a new genesis, one more beginning in a series of starts, trailing backwards in time to the very first day.

If you are afraid, welcome. If you are joyful, welcome. If you are longing to belong, welcome.

God’s generous rhythm of life, death, resurrection, moving in and through all things, the very breath and source of the cosmos itself.

Our pathways converge and continue, each one of us a catalyst for loving action. We, a community of saints. Conspire. Breathe with us.

These were words of a prayer used at a conference last September but seemed to me to be apt for us as a community as we begin this New Year together. You can experience this through video and sound by clicking here.

Let us continue to create a space where all are welcome, all accepted and all invited to a journey of transformation into Christlikeness. We do so as we live, eat and breathe together in our common humanity, our common frailty and our common identity as the family of God.

A PRAYER FOR EPIPHANY O God, by the leading of a star you manifested your only Son to the peoples of the earth: Lead us, who know you now by faith, to your presence, where we may see your glory face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.
